A frightening wind of machination and paranoid imagination blows behind the theatre curtain in Darren Aronofskys magnum opus. For performing the part of the leading lady from the ballet "Swan Lake, the artist Nina (Natalie Portman) bursts in her fear of failure and her superhuman expectation of artistic value. Nina’s violable sensation in interpersonal relationships unleashes the black visions inside the innocent swan maid. Appropriate to her metamorphosis the visualization of the environment changes from mild mealy insights to cold distant intuitions. The spectators will trail away in the confrontation of art and insanity.
